Latta, tenor, has earned masters and doctoral
degrees in music,voice and literature, with a cognate in ethnomusicology,
minors in music education and opera stage direction, from the Indiana
University Jacobs School of Music. Latta completed an undergraduate degree in voice from the University of Evansville. He has enjoyed experiences as a master clinician, instructor, lecturer, and recitalist.
Dr. Latta, previously Assistant Professor of Music, Vincennes University, has recently joined the Spencer Owen School Corporation and is the Choir Director of the Owen Valley Middle and High Schools. He is very excited, honored, and proud to be teaching in the Indiana public schools and enjoys seeing his 200 or so Patriot students each day!
Latta lives in a farmhouse in Brazil, Indiana, with his wife, Lauren, and son, Vance. Lauren is employed with
the Clay Community School Corporation as an elementary art teacher at Forest
Park, Jackson Township, and Staunton schools. She teaches more than 750 students and can always remember all of their names! Vance enjoys watching the chickens at his Grandmother’s house, singing and
dancing to the Eagles, reading books, creating "colonies" of play soldiers, making lego "machines", running all over the yard, swimming in the ocean, and playing his dad’s guitar and piano. The Lattas enjoy spending quiet evenings with their family and friends, their two minature schnauzers, Daisy and Maggie... and a mutt named Tucker.
